USAS in Our Heart
(Written by Tan Sharmie Tan Sharifuddin)
I would like to share my experience as a student of University Sultan
Azlan Shah (USAS), located at Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar, State of Perak. For
three months I took a short term course here, I have learned many things about
this place. Also about life as a student. I’m so happy given the opportunity to
further studying at this university because I’m feeling like my dreams are
granted for traveling far from Kelantan and recognize the culture of others to
gain more knowledge about outside community.
Besides basic amenities like hall,
auditorium, café and lecture room, there are also many facilities provided by
the university such as Permaisuri Siti Bainun Mosque, Raja Ashman Shah Library,
Slim & Fitness Gym, a big hockey field, futsal, football field, and others
for student convenience. There are some pictures the view of USAS that were captured by the author.
Home-Lift Programme
(Written
by Tan Sharmie Tan Sharifuddin)
Over the last few weeks, students were
given a five day leave as lecturers were involved in World Conference on Islamic
Thought and Civilization 2018 (WCIT2018) at Ipoh. So, we take the opportunity
for going on vacation. But, before this, I would like to tell about an amazing
programme that I had joined before take leave for vacation. I had participated
on a programme, named as ‘Tradisi Angkat Rumah’ or ‘Home-Lift Programme’.
We started lift the traditional house in
Labu Kubong Village at 9.00 am and ended this at 1.30 pm. The house was moving
150 metre from the origin place for tourism purpose. The programme ends with a
certificate handing over to each participant. Before heading home to USAS, we
served a variety of traditional foods by villagers. This programme was the most
interesting experience I’ve ever participated.

I would like to share my experience when enjoying Ten Thousands Step of
Independence on a holidays that is organized on Saturday. The participant in
the independence day were involved in higher education institutions including
students from Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS) and the nearest community
living in Kuala Kangsar.
When we were walking along a lot of traffic policeman that were
controlling each road and also some ambulance. When we started to half-way step
there were so of those who turned back due to short of breath. And there was a
school boy participating in the activity being injured during the activity.
After finishing the Ten Thousand Step of independence, we were given lunch and
there were lucky draws, even some of the lucky USAS student won the draw. After competition, we move to one place and
gather together a lot of buses from the University Sultan Azlan Shah come pick
up.
Meaningful Vacation Trip
(Written by Tan Sharmie Tan Sharifuddin &
Nur Ainsyah Adi)
After struggling to complete course work and assignments provided by
lecturers, we decided to go on vacation. In addition, we need to prepare a blog
post provided by the lecturer in Writing In ESL subject. So, while we’re going
on vacation, we can find ideas to include in our blogging. Ainsyah and I chose
a vacation for resting our mind at Keluang Hill, Terengganu because we both
love exploring nature at the same time, we can gain our weight.
We depart from USAS at late of afternoon after completing the programme
that we have joined. I have joined the Home-Lift Programme while Ainsyah joined
Ten Thousands Step. Though we both were tired but that did not stop us from
going on the destination to raise the USAS flag at the top of the Keluang Hill.
That long journey took seven hours to arrive at Bukit Keluang Beach. We have travelled
the long Timur-Barat Highway and winding roads on the slopes of Gerik Hill for
many hours before entering the border of Kelantan-Perak. We take a break for
take a nap at R&R Jeli, Kelantan for four hours and continue our
destination after Subuh Prayed and take our meal at Allisya Restaurant located
at Nilampuri, Kota Bharu, which was our way to Keluang Hill.
We arrived at Kuala Besut bridge, border of Kelantan-Terengganu at 3.00
pm and 45 minutes later we arrived at Bukit Keluang Beach. The scenery was very
beautiful and peaceful. Many people people were picnicking, seeing pet exhibits
and playing sea sports. Ainsyah and I was getting ready to climb the hill. We
took an hours to get on the top of the hill and half an hour for getting down
to our car park. There are some pictures that we captured during our trip.
Thanks for lending time to read our blog!
The
Story about Balai Gambang Sari near by Sungai Kangsar
(
WRITTEN BY: SOLEHAH SOLIHIN & HIDAYAH HUSSIN )
On peaceful Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. dated 16/8/2018, we
are from University Sultan Azlan Shah to Gambang hall of Cempaka Sari by
walking. Our goal is to set up the assigment given by our cute lecture Miss
Fatin Hamimi binti Mat Resat who are teaching , writting in esl. We take the easy way on walking to make our body
health and cost-effective. We go there with our bestfriend who are afikah and
ezza for enjoy, get close our relationship and release tension before final
exam. We took it there in 30 minutes. Along the road, we see a wide variety of
people and greener ambience. A few minutes, we choose one off the stalls to eat
after tired walking. In the stall many type of food such as ‘laksa kuala’,’char
kuey teow’,’cendol grass jelly tea’ and others. The stall are close to the
Gambang Sari hall. The food are very cheap and delicous, so many people at
there. After finish eat, we decide to go Gambang Sari hall to take more
information about that and it take a few minute to go there.
Upon arrived there, was a guard
working at there and we asked about the boat, then we meet friendly. A few
second the worker was story about that. The gambang hall is named after Cempaka
Sari and is speacially built for the 38th silver sultanate ceremony. Ther boat
will bring her newly-sultan to visit the tombs of the Sultan Perak to the
diamond bay through the silver rivers that stars from the sagorous who are the
located at Kampung Gajah. The Gambang hall above the ground and also able to
firmly move him over the water for official ceremony use such as the
construction of Gambang hall Cempaka Sari Kuala Kangsar. The place will be the
attraction of the people to travel especially the outdoor tourist.
Beside that, the employee
recounts a little bit about the Gambang hall. It is a special boat measuring
12.2 meters long and 6.1 meters weight of 4.5 tons capable of carrying a load
of 10 to 15 people. It also comes with a bathroom and electric power supply.
For your information the Gambang hall was actually introduced by Sultan
Iskandar Zulkarnian who is the 15th Sultan of Perak. This because he said to
need a big boat to move from a place to Indera Sakti Island located in Kampung
Gajah in 1754. Although Balai Gambang started in the history of Perak in 1754,
it began to be used as aspecial tool for the coronation ceremony of the 16th
Sultan of Perak is Sultan Mahmud Shah or Marhum Mahmud in 1770. From the day it
began to be introduced to use of the coronation until the year 1948 during the
Sultan Yussuff coronation of Izzuddin Shah in conjuction with 32th Sultan of
Perak. Balai Gambang was originally made of yellow bamboo or ivory
bamboon, yellow color is the color of Sultan.
Balai Gambang Cempaka Sari ,a
decorated boat used during the Sultan of Perak coronation ceremony,Sultan
Nazrin Muizzudin Shah became the focus of the crowd in conjuction with the
school holidays. Visitors do not miss the opportunity to ride the Gambang for
30 minutes for a fee of RM15 for adults and RM10 for children. One of the
worker at there Amy Nor Shahida said the number of passengers on boardthe boat
to ride the Sungai Perak increased during the holiday season. He said
passengers were taken along the banks of the Sungai Perak while giving
information on the Sultan Perak. Tourist are taken by boats to several
interesting areas on the banks of the Sungai Perak including the filming scence
of the Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah,Man Laksa and Jangan Pandang Belakang.
Service
The boatman claimed that they offered
joyride from the Sayong jetty until about the mid-point tp R&R Sg Perak.
The ride takes about an hour, starts from 9.00 am until 7.00 pm. Maximum 15 pax
and minimum of 10 pax per ride. Piloting the boat requires knowledge and skills
as the current can be pretty strong, besides certain parts of the river are
either shallow or contained bedrock.

SWIMMING POOL KUALA KANGSAR

SUNDAY 19TH AUGUST 2018
LOVE AND LIFE
Hye !
Assalamulaikum w.b.t .
Today we
want to share our experience go to swimming pool kuala kangsar
My life
is defined by stages . As soon as I think I’ve got the hang of one stage , it’s
over and a brand new one stages . We can spend their whole childhood wishing it
was over – not because we really want it to be , but because it can be
stressful that looking to the future eats up precious time spent in the present
.
Entry to share a bit of one port of Kuala Kangsar . A place is
Swimming Pool Magelang . This pool actually belongs to Munipical Council
Magelang (MPKK) . The location of her in front of the Kalsom King’s School ,
Bukit Chandan , or if you go to the Sultan Azlan Gallery will see the model og
the tanks side by side .
The
swimming pool is open daily . There are two sessions of the morning session
(9:00 a.m – 12:30) &evening session (2:30-6:00).Every Friday night there
are ladies hour(5:00 p.m-6:45 p.m)adult rate of RM300,children
RM200,senior/disable RM1.00. I look at the MPKK website there is a locker
service & towel but I did not come . Maybe he wants to upgrade his coat .
But toilet and dressing room is there . Make sure to wear appropriate clothing
for swimming shirt jersey and track pants are allowed . COTTON SHAPE IS NOT
ALLOWED .
The pool is wide enough , when it comes to weekdays , it is quite a
shower because there are not so many people . it’s just that it’s hot . When
evening is a just a few people . It feels the best time to come here is in the
morning . There are 3 parts of the pool here , for adults & children . In
this pool 1.2 – 1.35 metres . It can be placked . For children there is rain
water and sliding a little . If you’re hungry to thirst for a café , here’s
selling snack and water . Maybe of the weekend again feels cozy .
Time we
come weekend in evening , many people come to swimming pool with their family.
But that’s not best if it’s hot , because the roof is not straight .
But the
overall , best is the pool because it’s clean and big . THE IMPORTANT NO MORE
RUBBISH !
So whoever , we come to swimming pool to learn swim , to having
picnic and can spend time together in leisure time . I now will have a great
memories.
The
benefit I get by swimming is :
1. Swimming is the one
the best exercise and can burned calories without sweating .
2. Swimming is one of
the Sunnah Prophets of Muhammad S.A.W .
Overall , this swimming pool is a great place to spend time with
family and friends because of its clean and beautiful place , I am satisfied
with the environment and its place is quite comfortable . We hope other people
can visit this pool and enjoy the perfect holiday with family in this swimming
pool Kuala Kangsar .
